چکیده

This paper presents Arcademis, a Java-based framework for middleware development. Arcademis consists of a set of abstract classes and interfaces that define the general architecture of middleware systems. The main objective of Arcademis is to support the implementation of non-monolithic and easily reconfigurable middleware. In order to illustrate the use of the framework, the paper also describes the RME system. RME is a middleware derived from Arcademis that adds a remote method invocation service to distributed applications built on the CLDC configuration of Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME).

Arcademis: a framework for object-oriented communication middleware development

This paper presents Arcademis, a Java-based framework for communication middleware development. Arcademis consists of a set of abstract classes, interfaces and concrete components that define the general architecture of middleware systems. Its main objective is to support the implementation of non-monolithic and easily configurable middleware platforms. Arcademis can be used by middleware devel...

Middleware Scheduling Optimization Techniques for Distributed Real-Time and Embedded Systems

Developers of mission-critical distributed real-time and embedded (DRE) systems face a fundamental tension between (1) the performance gains achievable with hand-crafted optimizations to systems built largely from scratch and (2) the development cost and cycle-time reductions offered by common offthe-shelf (COTS) middleware, such as CORBA, COM+, and Java RMI. Current-generation COTS DRE middlew...

Casting an Abstract Design into the Framework of Java RMI

Java’s Remote Method Invocation mechanism is an object-oriented middleware framework for the development of distributed applications. We describe our experiences with a case study where we casted an abstract design specification for a small, distributed multi-user editor into the framework of Java RMI. We concentrate on the encountered difficulties and present workarounds for certain problems.

Simulation-based analysis of middleware service impact on system reliability: Experiment on Java application server

Being a popular runtime infrastructure in the era of Internet, middleware provides more and more services to support the development, deployment and management of distributed systems. At the same time, the reliability of middleware services has a significant impact on the overall reliability of the system. Different services have different impacts and different service fault-tolerance solutions...

Grid Enabled JaSkel Skeletons with GMarte

The development of parallel applications requires adequate tools to help the programmer to create applications that can efficiently execute on a wide range of computing platforms. This paper describes a joint effort to build a programming framework that can transparently execute parallel applications on multiprocessor systems, clusters and computational Grids. This environment integrates a Java...
